home, living and lifestyle for the modern world

Birthdays are Nice

My son is so happy to be invited to a birthday party this month. This is his first birthday party invitation this year and he is excited. He’s already thinking about what to buy for his good friend.

The invitation we got was colourful and attractive, typical of children’s birthday invitations. I’m just thinking what I should get for him for his birthday in October. We may need to start planning so that we can order some cards online. Birthdays are always so nice and I only wish I got round to celebrating my birthdays when I was little!

When Making Purchases

I have been buying things online and I’m fortunate to have more good than bad experiences so far. Sometimes when I buy things from stores, I do get good service but I just dislike finding a car park in the mall. These days, when you end up with a defective product, you can either ask for an exchange or some people may engage a Defective Product Attorney if the company is not happy to forward an exchange. Whatever it is, it it necessary for every customer to know his or her rights when they make a purchase.

More Electronics and Computers!

Everything around us is centered around technology and even kids are becoming so well versed with computers and smartphones these days.

My husband loves to buy electronic stuff and somehow, he never gets too tired with buying another set of laptop speakers for his three laptops. It seems hard to believe but there are five computers – mini and big in our little home office and some of our friends find it so amusing! It’s hard to understand why we need so many but I suppose it’s accumulated over the years. I’m not so if it’s very eco friendly to do that but I think we can’t have another one at home!

Villas in the Mountains

Renovating a house can be fun if you are the detailed sort of person though there will be lots of hard work during the entire process.

I was looking around some of the beautiful villas in the bunya mountains and those metal buildings will impressive! I wish we can own one of these and wake up to a lovely valley or mountainous view everyday. But I don’t think I fancy the cold in winter. In fact, I would prefer to be in a warmer place where I can hop into the beaches when the sun is out!

Home Sweet Home

After a few days break at the mountains, it’s time to come back to reality. Staying in the mountains, we are worried about the cold everyday but now, I’m finally back to two layers!

Now that I’m back, I think I need to put myself on a simple diet and perhaps find a diet pill that works. We have been eating so much during the trip that I need to go on a meat free diet for a while! I think too much beef and lamb is not good for my cholesterol levels so I really need to go easy on that. But now, I’m going for a good bounce on the rebounder and that would be a good way to start the day!

Living in the Bush

How thankful we were with a GPS for without it, we won’t be able to move around in quick timing!

My cousin lives in the bush and it’s just so hard to find her house each time. I hope that she will look into getting address plaques as she hasn’t had at her gate and we often missed her house, even though we have a GPS! The GPS doesn’t recognize bush homes so well and that’s why it does help when the signs are clear. Living in a bush is nice but when your friends can’t find your place, it can be rather embarassing!

Online Learning Made Possible

I always remember something my mentor told me when I was at younger. He told me that no one would be too old to learn and I agree with him.

It’s amazing that technology has changed the way we learned. Our six year old is showing me things on google and youtube and I can see that he is wired so differently. These days, people could study an information technology degree without leaving home and it’s all made possible with today’s online technology. Given the opportunity, I would like to learn a new area of discipline online one day. It should be interesting.

Buying the Right Camera

At one time, I was crazy about DSLR cameras. I brought it with me everywhere I go and I enjoyed shooting photos of my little boy. I need to restore this passion again!

There are lots of new cameras in the marketplace these days and sometimes I am so tempted to buy a new product with all the attractive features. From kodak digital cameras to Nikon, it’s quite hard to choose the right one when you need to buy one. I suppose it all voices down to your need and what you plan to do with the camera. Once you nail down that question, it would help you make a better decision.

Appreciating the Simple Things of Life

Sometimes I wonder what would life be like if we are still living in the days and age when I was 18. I believe it would be alot simpler and easy going. Though it won’t be as high tech as today, it would simply nice and enjoyable. Then again, we need progress, don’t we?

With just a computer and an internet connection, people can buy things and search information online. Find your favourite apparel or alec bradley and you can send a gift with just a click of the mouse – how convenient. With this modern technology environmental, I hope we won’t forget the simple things of life. It is easy to forget and take things for granted.

Friends Visiting

This week, I have some friends visiting me from Asia and I’m glad to play host to three of them.

It’s a holiday for them and they desire to take a break from the hectic lifestyle back home. We had a simple homecooked dinner and we talked and chatted over everything in life, from discussing about Polaris Ranger Accessories to shopping online for supplements. It was a nice get together. Tomorrow we are taking them to the city and I believe they are going to have a great time. Let’s hope the weather is perfectly fine tomorrow as the markets will be on!
