home, living and lifestyle for the modern world

Shopping Online Means Convenience

Shopping via the internet has been a common thing for me these days. I love the convenience of buying things online and not having to search around for the items I want.

Some friends were telling me about Cyber Monday deals and it seems that there are lots of good bargains on that site. It pays to do a good search before you buy anything as sometimes, the savings can be substantial. The best thing is, you don’t even need the comforts of your home.

Social Networking and Children

Social networking is such a huge thing now. Even a eight year old child knows what Facebook is.

I was a little taken aback when my son who is seven told me that he wants to download a youtube video. In the first place, I didn’t expect him to know what youtube was! Then it dawned upon me that times had changed and children these days are so savvy with the computer that parents should really keep an eye on them. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that children are safe on the internet and they should monitor on the content they are digesting.

Keeping Entertained with TV

Gone are the days where people have tvs that are huge and bulky. It’s all about space saving now.

Flat screens are so common now that it’s primitive not to own one! You can find lots of led tvs and lcds for sale in the electrical stores and sometimes it’s mind boggling choosing the right one for the house. It’s all about finding one that fit your budget and not having to overspend. Afterall, they all deliver one sole purpose of keeping you entertained!

Online Buying for Convenience

I’m so determined to get a Kitchenaid food processor and stand mixer for the kitchen. This is the time where I wish that the space in my kitchentop is big enough to lay all my kitchen appliances.

My friends don’t like to buy stuff online as they think it may not be safe. A friend’s husband bought a PoolSupplyUnlimited.com rheem heat pump and he thinks it’s great. The savings is immense and he doesn’t have to pay big bucks to get what he likes. My hubby is also a believer of online shopping and sometimes I need to remind him not to buy things we don’t need! I can’t tell you how convenient it is to buy stuff online!

Traveling Safe on the Road

Since it’s school holidays, I’m taking a little break from work to spend time with this busy junior.

Many of our friends are traveling and camping out as it’s a lovely season of spring time! The flowers are blooming and new shoots appearing. It’s just nice to be out there in the big sun. For those who camp, it is wise to get roadside assistance before they embark on a road trip. It is just not wise to get into the hassle of breakdowns when you are on a road trip with your family. Therefore, be wise, buy yourself a good cover plan and take off for your vacation!

Shopping for Convenience

My son has two birthday parties to go to this weekend and I’ve been busy shopping for presents for his friends.

If time allows, I would prefer to shop online but due to time constraint, I had to go to the shops to buy my gifts. I am looking at grandparent gifts for anniversary online and the choices are aplenty. I like shopping online for its sheer convenience and it’s great that I can shop a string of stores before deciding on what I want. This sure helps to cut down on gas and my time getting in and out of the house!

Growing Up Fast

Time flies… looking back, I was a frantic mom running after a 2 yo and now, my little boy is in grade one.

It seems like yesterday that I was still nursing him and singing nursery rhymes to him. I used to take him on a baby Jogger City Select stroller with a friend and we would walk for miles and the baby will be asleep. It helps to keep us fit while we entertain the child.

With kids growing so fast in this fast paced world, I would like to do my best to spend as much time as I can with him.

Communicating with Technology

I’m not sure how you communicate with friends across the miles but as for me, my communication has been made easy by today’s advanced technology.

Business people are talking to business partners across the miles using computers and mobile phones. You may have heard of megameeting web conferencing software where business people can talk and discuss matters at one go. This can certainly help to increase productivity and keeps things going despite the huge distances between companies and clients. On the personal level, communicating via the computer has become a popular thing because you can save so much on call charges.

Father’s Day Gifts

It seems that people tend to pay more attention to Mother’s Day than Father’s Day. You can see that in the departmental stores as the hype seems to be ‘louder’ when it comes to Mother’s Day.

Having said that, it is important that we honour the fathers in this world even though the attention tends to pull towards moms. If you are wondering what to buy for dad, consider the range of custom lapel pins online or other electronic gifts such as photobook. Simple they may be but these little gifts can bring smiles to dads the way it brings to moms. If none of these appeals to you, consider a photo card and best of all, do it yourself and make it personal!

Economic Turmoil

The financial markets in the world was in turmoil early this week and it seems that the worse has yet to come!

I don’t like to wake up with bad news and everytime I hear about companies closing up and people losing their jobs, it worries me that the economy isn’t going to be better. I have a friend in the stainless steel drums and he told me that times are bad in almost every industry. He’s still getting orders but some of his clients are facing challenges in their businesses.

I figure out that business owners have to be prudent and vigilant to brace through these difficult times.
