Last year, I took the initiative to purchase a medical insurance policy for my mom. To my surprise, I got a lecture from her instead of an appreciation.

She thought I was ‘wasting’ money cos she assured me that she was very healthy and would not end up with any medical problems. It was hard to convince her that life is just too unpredictable. She expected me to get some cheap insurance but instead it turned out that her medical was expensive due to her old age. She even demanded that I should cancel the policy when the year is up. It was hard for me to convince her that a medical insurance will help to avoid hefty medical costs should any unfortunate event take place.

For now, I’m thinking of ways to avoid telling her that the medical will continue and one of the ways is to make sure the letter is delivered somewhere else!
