We had a simple and meaningful Mother’s day celebration when my son came up to me with a handmade craft he did from school. The dinner was nice at our favourite ribs place and though DH didn’t buy me any gift, he was nice enough to buy me my favourite meal.

In the afternoon, we gathered all our family photos together and did some slideshows for our family archive. It was quality time well spent on a lazy afternoon and I took a nap to refresh and rejuvenate my tired body. Looking back, I’ve been a mom for almost six years and amidst all the toils and pains, I have grown so much as a person.

A simple celebration like this gave me the motivation to move forward and appreciate my calling as a mom. It also reminds me of what my mom had gone through for me all these years. Mother’s day is a time to reminisce and give thanks for all the blessings bestowed upon my life and I’m forever thankful.
