Every now and then, I need to be reminded of how blessed I am - to be able to work from home and be a full time parent. This is the wish of many mommies and I’m so thankful that I can be doing that. Yet sometimes, I can be too overwhelmed with life’s problems and hiccups that I’ll be focusing on the negatives over the positive things in life. The mind is such a powerful influencer. Feed it negative thoughts and you will be feeling gloomy, downcast, discouraged, distressed and negative. Fill your mind with positive and uplifting thoughts and you will feel that the world is brighter and your spirit is lighter. It’s up to you to choose your thoughts and they will eventually rule your thinking, countenance and outlook in life.

It is no wonder that more people are suffering from depression. Depression can spring from many incidents. Poor health, financial crisis, problems at work, marital setbacks, parenting woes, emotional struggles…etc. To get out of this negative rut, it is important to feed your mind with thoughts that are pure, upright, clean, optimistic, hopeful, joyful and positive. It does not hurt you a bit to think positive but if you choose to stay negative mentally, the consequences can be painful and detrimental to your health and progress in life. So if you are feeling downcast today, focus on the things you have, rather than what you don’t have. Keep your spirits high, say a prayer and get into the company of positive and optimistic people. Speak positive thoughts to your mind and heart, count your blessings and in no time, the negative spells will flee and you will be on the road to mental recovery. This, to me, is embracing harmony and acquiring a divine prosperity that cannot be bought with money or any wealth on earth.
